My name is Juan David Escobar Amaya a.k.a Juan Da. I am a senior at Divine Savior Academy and I have been studying here for about five years. Divine Savior Academy has provided me with an education that encourages me to follow a Christian Worldview. It influences my beliefs, actions, and the way I connect with others. DSA’s programs and classes have also provided me great tools and development skills that will help me as I move on to college and adult life. Apart from learning about God’s word and networking with others, my favorite memory at DSA would probably have to be winning the district championships with my cross country team. We worked extremely hard the entire season and became more than just teammates; we became a family, which led eventually led us to excel as athletes. I encourage sophomores and incoming freshmen to work very hard from the beginning and to take school seriously. However, it is still
important for them to remember to enjoy their high school years because they fly by!
In the future, I plan to go to Martin Luther College in hopes of becoming a pastor someday. I plan to eventually have my own congregation in which I can spread the word of God with everyone and grow as a family of believers.
Senior Juan David Escobar Amaya definitely made the most of his high school years. He competed in basketball, track & field, and cross country. He has been a member of the choir, National Honor Society, and Student Ambassadors, Drama, and Yearbook Clubs. He also volunteers with the DSA New Friends program and Special Olympics.
