The Divine Savior Academy Varsity Volleyball team defeated First Baptist Academy on Saturday to become the first DSA team ever to compete in a State Championship. The Sharks fought hard, even battling back from a 1-8 deficit in the second set, to sweep the Lions in 3 sets (26-24, 25-19, 25-19).?? The 24-1 Sharks??have now won 18 consecutive matches and have not lost even a set since September 15.
Junior captain and outside hitter Fabiana Castro led the team to victory with 25 kills, 11 digs, and 2 blocks. Castro is still relishing Saturday’s win and is confident about the upcoming Championship match. ” I am very proud of everyone??- coaches, my teammates, especially the freshman, who played so well.??
