(Divine Savior Academy – Doral) Meeting new teachers is always exciting! In these teacher profiles, we will introduce you to Ms. Maasz, Ms. Tenyer, and Pastor Davisson.
Ms. Miranda Maasz is our new high school U.S. History, American Government, and English 2 teacher here at Divine Savior Academy. Before arriving to Divine Savior, Ms. Maasz studied at Martin Luther College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. From MLC, she was assigned to Nebraska Lutheran High School where she taught for three years. When she received a call from Principle Ben Troge to come teach for Divine Savior, she was caught off guard by the opportunity. After a few weeks, she decided to jump at the opening and come teach for DSA. Ms. Maasz has been enjoying her time here teaching students from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds as well as coaching Junior Varsity volleyball. We look forward to seeing how she serves DSA in the future!
Ms. Jenny Tenyer is our new high school Social Studies teacher. She was born in Lake Forest, Illinois and grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She recently graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College with degrees in Secondary Education, Broadfield Social Sciences, and History. Ms. Tenyer was part of several organizations during her time at WLC. She was part of the Student Senate and the Christian Leadership Certificate Program. She also served as the Serving Hearts Coordinator and is the creator of the Warriors Academic and Leadership Initiative. These organizations helped prepare Ms. Tenyer as a teacher by encouraging her to further her leadership skills. She is bringing her experience to DSA by serving as the club adviser for Model United Nations and the Ambassador Program. We are incredibly excited to see what she accomplishes at Divine Savior Academy.
Pastor Caleb Davisson is Divine Savior Academy’s new high school Theology teacher. He was born in Wisconsin and grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. He graduated from Martin Luther College with a Bachelor in Liberal Arts and then went on to study at the seminary. He previously taught at Lakeside Lutheran High School as well as coached track and football. When he was contacted to come teach at DSA, he had heard great things about our campus. “I thought it would a great opportunity to grow as a teacher.” He looks forward to seeing DSA continue to expand and getting to know people from different backgrounds.
