Mrs. Sarah Jimenez was born in Venezuela to Chilean parents. At the age of 4, she moved with her family to Huntington, Long Island, NY, where she spent her childhood. Mrs. Jimenez graduated from New York University with a double major in Political Science and Latin American Studies and a minor in Psychology. Since she did not like the cold weather in New York, Mrs. Jimenez looked for a job farther south, ending up at Perry Ellis in Doral, working in the legal/licensing department. After two years, she realized that the business world was not for her, so she took Education courses at FIU, earning her teaching certificate. Mrs. Jimenez began her teaching career at Doral Academy. Around this time, she first came in contact with Divine Savior Academy when her son attended a basketball camp here. She ended up enrolling her son and daughter at DSA and the whole family began to attend Divine Savior Church. As Divine Savior Academy began to expand into a growing high school, it became evident that a college counselor was needed and Mrs. Jimenez was offered the job. In the 8 years she has worked here, her hard work and constant research into necessary testing and college requirements have helped ensure that our students have the highest chance of success after high school. Mrs. Jimenez was also recently certified to counsel student-athletes that aspire to continue their athletic involvement into university. Her training will help her guide the athletes through the process more effectively as she works also with the parents and coaches. Mrs. Jimenez is happy to be able to do what she loves.

???College counseling has always been my passion.

My time at DSA has been a learning experience, challenging me to grow as a professional in my field and as a person spiritually, which has helped me overcome challenges along the way.???

Mrs. Jimenez has been married to her husband, Ivan, since 2000. Both her children are still attending DSA ??? Nico is a freshman and Luciana is in 6th grade.
