Seniors Rosalia Russoniello and Orazio Casanova both recorded perfect scores in the second WordWright Challenge of the school year. Russoniello and Casanova placed among the 28 highest-scoring twelfth graders in the entire country. More than 65,000 high school students from 48 states entered the meet. The students read and analyzed “We Are Still Only Human” by Verlyn Klinkenborg, which was originally published in the New York Times in 1996.
DSA Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Ryan Kirchoff, oversaw the meet and is very proud of the results. “Being one of only six schools to have multiple students finish with a perfect score is a testament to the rigor of our entire curriculum at Divine Savior Academy. Our students are developing the reading and analysis skills necessary to succeed in college and beyond.”
