The High School Varsity Boys Soccer team emerged the winner of the District tournament last week, to earn Divine Savior Soccer its first ever District Championship. They decimated Hialeah Educational Academy by a score of 8 – 0 in the Semifinal match. The championship game brought them up against rival Miami Country Day School, who also hosted the tournament and had home-field advantage. DSA had an awesome showing of fan support, who cheered the team on to a 4 – 2 victory over Miami Country Day.
The highly experienced team led by 9 seniors finished regular season play with a record of 11 – 4 – 1. Their District record was 4 – 2, which secured them the 1st seed going into the District tournament.
They now will advance to Regional play this Wednesday in the Quarterfinal match against Posnack. The game will be held at 3:30 pm at Morgan Levy Park. There will be a $7 entrance fee.
Come cheer on your Sharks as they make DSA Soccer history!
