The Middle School and High School Business Clubs competed in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) District competition. This is the first year that Divine Savior has had an FBLA Chapter and the students rose to the challenge. Thirty-five DSA members competed against five hundred other members from schools all over South Florida. The competition, held at Miami Dade College, included Skills Events, Projects, Objective Tests in subjects such as Economics and Finance, and Performance, which included Public Speaking. DSA had eight students place in the top three for their competitions, which earns them the right to compete in the FBLA State finals. This will be held in Orlando in March, with thousands of students coming from all over the state of Florida.
Ginger Poulos, Divine Savior Business Club Advisor, is pleased with how the newly formed Chapter performed. ???We didn???t really know what to expect since this was our first time, and I know we are in a tough District.
I was very proud and impressed by the students that competed. To have over 20% of our members move on to the State final is just awesome.???
We wish them all the best of luck!
