On May 4th, Divine Savior Academy will host its Shark Shootout Golf Tournament, an annual event that raises money for the school???s athletic programs. Hosted on Trump National Doral???s Silver Fox Course, the tournament is a stone???s throw from Divine Savior Academy on 58th Street.

???We are pleased to host our annual golf tournament at Trump National Doral. Not only is it just over the fence from our school, it???s in the heart of our community,??? says Divine Savior Academy Principal Ben Troge.

Proceeds from this year???s Shark Shootout benefit Divine Savior Academy???s soccer field renovations. The renovations will include field turf surfacing, lights, and expanded bleacher seating. ??These changes will allow DSA??to host more home events and get even more use out of its??field space during the winter months.

Athletic Director Dan Unke comments, ???While our current field is an upgrade from what we have had in past years, these new improvements will allow us to maximize the benefits of all the new athletic space on our expanded campus. ??Not only will it give our teams more time to practice and play, but it will allow us to host events that will contribute to increased school spirit. ??Attendance at our home games will certainly increase if those home games take place right on campus.???

Everyone is welcome to attend the May 4th event. The itinerary begins at 7:00 a.m. with registration, pre-round putting, and driving range practice. The tournament kicks off at 8:15 a.m. with a shotgun start and team scramble tournament format.

After 18 holes on the Trump National Doral course, the day concludes with a post-round meal, awards, raffle prizes, and a silent auction at the Trump National Clubhouse. In past years, silent auction items included Dolphins tickets with Club Liv access, Cirque du Soleil tickets, autographed Miami Heat memorabilia, and Miami Marlins ticket packages.

Registration and more information is available at Divine Savior???s school office located at 10311 NW 58th Street in Doral. Participants can register as single players or foursomes, while businesses can participate as sponsors that receive advertising in event programs, on tee boxes, and on the Academy???s social media platforms.

???The Shark Shootout is a great opportunity to come together as a community and as a school to support our youth. Not only is it a good cause, the tournament is a lot of fun!??? comments School Superintendent Carlos Leyrer.
