Read on below for a summary of their very successful seasons, then, get ready to cheer on our middle school athletes as they begin their soccer seasons this week. Keep up-to-date on all our middle school games and matches at our school???s online??calendar. Go Sharks!

Middle School Girls Volleyball

The 2014 middle school volleyball season was in many ways a season of ???firsts???.

At the 5-6 grade levels, both coaches were in their first year as a head coach.?? We had over 22 girls competing for the Sharks???another first!?? The 5-6 grade teams played 6 games over the course of the season.?? It quickly became evident that their skills, fundamentals, and passion for the game grew tremendously over the course of those six games.??

The 7-8 grade team had a strong showing in the Greater Miami Athletic League, ending the regular season with 11 wins and only 2 losses. Additionally, the Sharks took first place in DSA Volleyball Invitational Tournament held at DSA on Saturday, October 11th.?? This was the first time a DSA team has taken first in that annual tournament. Yesterday, October 22, our??Sharks took home the League Championship trophy!

The middle school volleyball teams would like to thank all who supported them throughout the season: their dedicated coaches, parents, and fans who cheered loudly at each home game.

Go Sharks!

Middle School Cross Country

The middle school cross country team had a year full of success. Ten runners (3 girls, 7 boys) willingly showed up for hot afternoon workouts three times a week to prepare themselves for the challenging meets all across the south Florida region. From the beginning of the season to the end, improvement was seen in all participants. One highlight of the season took place in Miami Springs, where five out of the top ten winning places were awarded to DSA runners (including a sweep of first, second, and third place). In the final meet of the year, against hundreds of competitors, all the DSA runners ran at a time equivalent or greater to their personal best. All in all, it was a great few months for everyone involved!
