Last week, six of our Divine Savior Academy students had a unique opportunity. While many high school students are vacationing, earning money at summer jobs, or hanging out with their friends, these six students decided to do something completely different: volunteer their time and talents to help teach little kids soccer.

DSA teachers Tim Biesterfeld and Shawna Mehlberg took six soccer-loving DSA students to La Porte, Indiana where Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church was running its annual soccer camp. Children of this Indiana community attend Beautiful Savior???s camp to learn more about soccer, meet new friends, and most importantly, hear about their Savior, Jesus Christ.

DSA students spent the week with Biesterfeld, Mehlberg, and members of the La Porte, Indiana church running drills, refereeing games, and teaching soccer skills to about 100 children every day. The camp was a huge success, and a fun time was had by all.

In addition to volunteering at the soccer camp, the DSA students got the chance to visit Notre Dame and sightsee in the beautiful city of Chicago. Find a video and an album of pictures of their adventures on the Divine Savior Academy Facebook page:
