End of the Year Message from Pastor Carlos

Class of 2014: College Scholarships and Acceptances
May 21, 2014
PTO Update
June 12, 2014

It???s hard to believe that another school year is complete. Before we head off to our summer vacations and plans, I would like to let you know what you can expect of Divine Savior Academy in the months to come.

You can expect that our teachers will continue to grow professionally. Did you know that while our students are enjoying summer break, our staff is busy learning the newest and most effective way to teach students? Over the summer months, our teachers take professional development classes and study educational books and literature. Our teachers then share what they learn with their fellow faculty members in conversations and meetings over the summer. Before summer break, each of our teachers submits a summer work plan to be approved by Mr. Troge. This assures that our faculty comes back from summer break even better than before. While the summer is certainly a time to relax, it is also a great opportunity to grow professionally. All our teachers do just that.

You can expect continued growth in our student body. Divine Savior Academy continues to be blessed with a growing student body. The demand has grown so much that next school year we will be opening a third Kindergarten and a third First Grade section! Middle school and high school will also increase in size as we continue to add classes and staff. This increase in our student body will make more programs viable and competitive. We don???t take this growth for granted. We thank our teachers, students, and families for giving DSA an excellent reputation in our community.

You can expect an expanding campus. As our student body continues to grow, so does our need for more facilities. As many of you know, we have been in the building process for almost two years now. While it has been a long road I???m happy to announce that construction for the new high school building and campus expansion has begun. Our ground breaking ceremony was held on May 18, and we officially started construction on June 2nd. Over the next months, you will see the building process in action!

You can expect our continued commitment to you and your children. What makes Divine Savior Academy special is not our nice facilities, but the people inside them. There are many variables year to year, but the constant is our teachers, who continue to work with the dedication of men and women called by God to teach their students about the world they live in and our God who created it. It???s this ???called worker mentality??? that makes what our teachers do so much more than a job. It???s a ministry. This is why I can say with confidence that we at Divine Savior Academy will continue to work hard for our students, stay humble in the process, and give God all the glory.

God bless your summer break. I look forward to seeing you in the fall!
